This multi unit project highlights the challenges our clients face with inner city developments. The client project managers from Gaze Commercial approached AP Design to provide a concept design for three town houses in the central city. The site is overshadowed by a large commercial building to the north and a key design challenge was to overcome this and provide decent outdoor living. The living spaces were located on the first floor which ensured a better outlook and access to direct sunlight. Fitzgerald Avenue is a major arterial road which required better than average acoustic performance. The selection of dense durability materials exceeds building code standard and also reduces the maintenance needs for the life of the homes.
Due to the complexity of this project the consultant team included a surveyor, acoustic engineer, structural engineer, fire engineer, and mechanical engineers. AP Design was the lead consultant and ensured the project documentation was complete in a timely manner. Our involvement has then continued through out the contract work as engineer to the contract where were oversee this phase as the representative of the client. Our involvement from concept to completion ensures a the very best outcome for the client.
